Vivo Y19 with 5000mAh battery – the review, specs

Vivo have recently launched it’s latest flagship in Vivo Y19. The device comes with a laudable 5000mAh battery capacity alonside a fast and reverse charging protocols.

Even with the superb battery capacity of some smartphones, the power depletion rate could still be high. To guide against this, the Y19 comes with a 6.53-inch FHD + Halo display screen which uses less power.

Although being a mid-budjet phone, it still possess a smooth, sleek and premuim feel.

At the uppermost part of the screen is a water-drop notch that houses the front camera – most common among modern smartphones.

For it’s camera core specs, the device packs a triple camera vertical setup at the rear and a powerful front camera for selfies. The hardware specifications is as well excellent and there’s no major down-vote in any of the phone’s key department.

Vivo Y19 Body and Display

As was formerly mentioned, Vivo Y19 comes with a sleek and attractive design and full HD display. It has a screen size of 1080 x 2340 pixels, with a screen-to-body ratio of 84.34 %.

The device available in black and white colours measures 162.1 mm x 76.4 mm x 8.8 mm and weighs 193 grams.

The good: It’s 395 pixel per inch ratio is quite convenient, same for it’s IPS capacitive touchscreen.

The bad: Earlier releases under the youth-inspired Y-series betters the Y19 in some ways. Y17 betters the latest flagship in weight as it’s weighs 190.5 grams compared to Y19’s 193 grams. Y15 on the other hand has a reduced thickness 85mm compared to Y19’s 88mm.

Operating system and Processor

Working behind the scenes is the phone’s octa-core Mediatek’s Helio P65 (MT6768) processor. The octacore processor consist of a hexa-core & dual core processor types each at 2Ghz in combination.

The Vivo Y19 model runs an Android operating system, version 9.0(pie) of it. It is based on the Vivo’s custom Funtouch OS skin, version 9.2.

The good: The processor is a powerdul one.

The bad: When compared with the 2.3Ghz processor used by it’s predecessor, Vivo Y17, it is a bit slower.

Camera

For some good photographic experience, the device camera department come with a triple rear camera setup.

The combination sees a 16-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.78 aperture pairing with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens which has a 120- degree field of view, and a 2- megapixel depth sensor.

On the phone’s screen is a waterdrop notch which holds the phone front camera. It is a 16-megapixel one mainly for selfies.

The good: The rear camera setup makes for a better photography.

The bad: Both Y17 & Y15 models has a higher secondary camera resolution (20MP and 32MP respectively) than Vivo Y19.

There’s no mention of 5G network as at the time of it’s release and there’s no comment by the manufacturer concerning the possibity of there being an additional 5G variant.
