Top 4 fastest 4G LTE networks in Nigeria
The Nigerian data market has never been the same since the entrance of 4G LTE networks into the market. Ntel was the first mover in this field, followed by some other major carriers like Smile, MTN, Glo, Spectranet, Swift, to mention a few.
Spectranet
Spectranet was not the first mover in 4G LTE networks in Nigeria but it offers great and interesting services. The major downside with Spectranet 4G service is that the speed could be throttled to 8 Mbps if the user exceeds the data cap.
Compared to Smile and Ntel, Spectranet 4G LTE speed can be categorized as moderate but it is also a cheaper option especially when compared to Smile.
Ntel
Ntel isn’t perfect but it rocks in 4G LTE and unlimited internet services, although recently it started offering some other (limited) data plans. Ntel is a king in 4G internet speed, the internet speed can reach up to 100Mbps.
Smile
Smile offers a great 4G internet plan known for consistency as well as speed. Smile is reliable in speed but the only downside with this plan is that it is costly. Also, Smile has a wider coverage than Spectranet and Ntel; it is available in Lagos, Port Harcourt, Ibadan, Abuja, Benin, Kaduna, Asaba, and Onitsha.
Swift
Swift is also one of the top 4G networks in Nigeria. It is available mainly in Lagos but has expanded its operation to Port Harcourt and Abuja. Depending on your location, Swift may not be very consistent but wherever it is available and consistent, the internet speed is usually high.
Each of the 4G data plans has their respective pros and cons but Ntel and Spectranet offer remarkable 4G LTE networks at affordable prices. Swift ties with Smile in speed but the data prices and features are not the same.
