Nigeria’s telecom giants rival each other in several ways but mostly in their data plans. Night and weekend plans have become a battlefield for the mobile giants in 2018.
MTN Night Browsing
MTN has always been a leader in the field. Other data services have followed its footsteps since it introduced its night browsing plans. With barely 25NGN, you can subscribe for 500MB MTN data to surf from 12 am to 4 am. To subscribe to MTN night plan, you must first migrate to MTN Pulse. This can be easily done by dialing *406#.
After migrating to MTN pulse, you can subscribe to this plan by sending “NIGHT” to 131.
Airtel Night Browsing Plan
Just like MTN, Airtel offers night plans to its subscribers. Airtel night browsing plan is only available in the SmartTRYBE tariff plan. You can migrate to this plan by dialing *312# or sending “YES” to 312.
The night browsing is valid between 12 am and 5 am. Airtel offers two night-browsing plans the 25NGN for 500MB and 200NGN for 1.5GB.
To subscribe, dial *312#, press 3 to access Trybe offers and choose the Airtel night plan you want from the options provided.
Glo Night and Weekend data Plans
Unlike MTN and Airtel, Glo does not require its subscribers to migrate to a different tariff plan before enjoying the benefits of Glo’s night and weekend plans.
Glo 1GB night plan goes for 200NGN. It is valid for 1 day from 12 am to 5 am and it can be activated by dialing *127*60#.
Glo also offers a weekend plan with a data volume of 3GB for 500NGN. It is valid for 7 days and accessible on weekends between 12 am Saturday to 11:59 pm Sunday.
In conclusion, the three data giants offer night plans but only Glo offers night and weekend data plans. MTN and Airtel recently canceled and modified their data plans, this affected their weekend plans.
