How to Manage and Save Data on Android and iOS
Most smartphone users in Nigeria want to manage and save data but a lot of them do not know how to do that. This article explains some simple tips to help you manage data either on Android or iOS.
Managing and Saving Data on Android
It is super-easy to save data on Android smartphones. To do this, go to “network & internet” under “settings”, locate “data usage” and go to “data saver”. You can then activate data saver.
Alternatively, you can set a data limit on your Android phone. Setting data limits ensures that you do not exceed a specific volume of data. To do this, go to “settings”, then “network and internet” and click on “data usage”. Then locate “data warning and limit” and click on “set data limit”. Once you are here, you can then set your preferred data limit usage to whatever you want.
Saving Data on iOS
You can even save data on Apple iOS. Just like on Android, you have to do this on the “settings” app on your smartphone. Go to “settings” and then click on “General”. From here, locate “background app refresh”. You can then disable background app refresh by toggling the switch position to the “OFF” position.
How to Manage and Save Data on Social Apps
It is also easy to manage and save data on any of your social media apps. You can do this on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, WhatsApp, YouTube, Snapchat, etc.
You can easily manage data on each of these social networks through the settings tab. For instance, you can disable video autoplay on the Facebook app by clicking on “auto-play video” under “settings”, and then toggling the switch button for auto-play video to “OFF”.
Autoplay can also be deactivated in the Twitter app through the “settings” and “Data usage” tabs. Similar processes apply to other social media apps and platforms mentioned above.
Disabling Auto Update
Another way to manage and save data on Android and iOS is by disabling auto-update. The processes are fairly the same for both platforms.
You can do this on Android through the Google Playstore app. Once you are on the Playstore app, locate “settings” and then go to “auto-update apps”, then select “Don’t auto-update apps”.
To disable auto-update on iOS, click on “General” under the “settings” tab and then locate “automatic downloads”. Change the switch position to “OFF” to disable updates.
In conclusion, it is easy to manage and save data on Android and iOS. You can turn on the data saver, disable auto-update or even disable video autoplay on either of these platforms.
