Huawei Nova 6, Nova 6 5G specs — 40W supercharge

A new unique design greets the recently released Huawei Nova 6, Huawei Nova 5G, and Huawei Nova 5G SE models. The SE variant is for the Chinese market and we won’t concern ourselves with it (i.e reviewing it).

The universal Huawei Nova 6 comes with a 5G variant, and these two are fairly similar only in physical design but different when their underlying features are examined.

Although both models uses Huawei 40W supercharge protocols, the 5G model comes with a better 4200mAh battery capacity. The 4G model has just a 4,100mAh battery.

The front display packs two camera sensors for both models. These camera sensors are engraved in what seems to be an oval-shaped dot-punch notch. The internals of the 32MP + 8MP selfie cameras used by both variants are different. Looking deeply, the physical aperture of the 5G model’s front & rear cameras are better than the 4G’s.

The LCD display featured on both models under review means there is no on-screen fingerprint sensor(only AMOLED display type features it). However, Huawei deems it fit to place the popular unlocking feature on the side rather than at the rear.

The device’s battery could charge up to 70% in 30mins and this speak quality. The HiSilicon Kirin 990 octacore processor setup also adds to the rare quality of hardware incorporated into these models.

The full review of these powerful phone models are as follows:

Wide and convenient LCD display specifications

Everything about the 5G variant is made to be better than the other variant. The height, width and thickness is lengthier than the Nova 6. The wider dimensions means that the Nova 6 5G has a greater weight.

Both models share the same display size, type, PPI ratio and resolution. The display is all classy even without the AMOLED type. The oval shaped notch which houses the front cameras extends into the screen i.e lies directly on the screen — a stride away from norm. The bezels surrounding the four sides are slim while the rear camera seems to be protruding outwards.

Excellent camera specifications exhibited by both models

The Nova 6 models are epitome of smartphones with excellent cameras.

The oval notch on the front screen houses two camera sensors. The 32MP wide sensor captures main shots while an ultrawide 8MP sensor covers wide angle in it’s capturing.

The rear packs an immense 48MP primary camera, while the other 8MP + 8MP sensors gives more quality to the shots.

The selfie cameras can deliver 4K video in both variants.
Minor differences could be seen in the underlying details of the Nova 6 & Nova 6 5G cameras.

Huawei Nova 6 wide storage — not expandable

Huawei Nova 6 packs a wide internal storage but there is no slot for SD card. Many users would have less need of that by reason of the large storage created.

The RAM size is also wide with all models coming with an 8GB RAM storage. However, the 5G model has two variants — one has a 128GB internal memory while the other has a doubled 256GB internal storage capacity.
